Morrissey urges fans NOT to buy new DVD

Morrissey has issued a statement online about his forthcoming live DVD, ’Live at the Hollywood Bowl’. According to http://true-to-you.net/, the former Smiths frontman never authorised its release.
He said: “The slapdash release of ‘Morrissey Live at the Hollywood Bowl’ is done by Warner without any consultation to me whatsoever, and is in breach of their terms as laid out by themselves in an agreement made for the film between Warner and my ex-manager. Being Warner, predictably the sleeve art is appalling. It is the work of cash-hounds, and I urge people NOT to buy it. I am not signed to Warner, and no royalties from this DVD will come to me. Please spend your money elsewhere.”
Yet another alleged posting explained the delay of his next album, ‘Years of Refusal’, from this fall until early 2009. It will now apparently be released overseas on February 2nd, with a TBD domestic date since Morrissey has severed his ties from Decca (he wasn’t happy with their push behind his recent Greatest Hits record).
Morrissey also added: “It is understood that WarnerMusic in London are releasing a Smiths Greatest Hits album in the final quarter of 2008. This release is without Morrissey’s approval or involvement.”
