Snow Patrol have announced a special iPhone/iPod Touch version of new album, making them the first music act to release an application onto the handset. ‘The exclusive copy comes with bonus content such as artwork, behind the scenes photos and lyrics. The copy can be bought through Apple’s App store.

“It will be an interactive element,” Liz Goodwin, the band’s product manager, told Music Week, “a digital booklet that will take you into the videos and content. For fans it will be a real must-have, and the fact that they are the first band to do this gives us an additional angle for exposure.”

A Hundred Million Suns‘ is due out this autumn.
