Travis Barker, ex-drummer of world-famous band Blink 182 and Adam Goldstein (aka DJ AM) are in hospital being treated for second and third degree burns after a plane crash last night, killing 4 other passengers.
The incident happened just before midnight on Friday after the pair had played a gig together, in Columbia, S.C, on the way to Van Nuys jetting off from Columbia Metropolitan Airport when air traffic control noticed sparks coming from the small plane. Officials then describe the next scene as a “high-speed overrun.”
The jet then followed to veer off the runway through a perimeter fence, over a road before crashing and bursting into flames.
This morning a spokeswoman issued a statement saying that Barker and Goldstein were in a critical but stable condition and “are not getting any worse.”
Unfortunately, the crash killed Chris Baker of Studio City and Charles Still, both members of Barker’s entourage. Both pilots Sarah Lemmon, from Anaheim Hills, and James Bland, from Carlsbad, California, were also killed.
Today family members for Barker and Goldstein released a shared statement: “Both Travis Barker and Adam Goldstein (DJ AM) are currently being treated for second and third degree burns. Barker suffered from burns on his torso and lower body and Goldstein suffered from burns on his arm and a portion of his head,” according to the statement. “Since both Barker and Goldstein are in overall good health and didn’t suffer from any other crash-related complications, a full recovery is expected.”
